Brief History

The Steyr AUG is the name of the weapon that serves as the basis for this replica. In full, "Armee universal Gewehr" translates to universal assault rifle. Research for this project began as early as 1960, and production approval was granted in 1977, with production starting a year later. The purpose of this platform was to replace the outdated FN FAL with a modern platform capable of delivering high firepower and precision akin to sniper rifles. The bullpup design allows for impressive length, thus achieving the desired precision performance. Today, the Steyr AUG is used and appreciated in many countries due to its reliability and performance. There are many variants in production with different lengths, accessories, and even calibers.

Exterior of the Replica

This replica mimics the Steyr AUG A2 model from 1997. The lower part is made of ABS plastic while the upper part is made of metal. The replica is constructed similarly to the real weapon, allowing for a disassembly process that closely resembles that of the actual firearm. The design of the replica provides the user with good maneuverability, benefiting from the enormous 509mm inner barrel, similar to an M16. The replica is equipped with a top rail for mounting an optical sighting device. The button for removing the magazine is located right next to the magazine, making it extremely easy to operate. The replica does not have a selector but is capable of firing both semi-automatic and fully automatic. All this ingenuity is due to the two-stage trigger. A light pull will activate semi-auto, while a firm pull will engage full-auto.

Interior of the Replica

The replica is equipped with a metal V3 gearbox that can be easily upgraded according to needs. The only limitation would be the atypical M4, MP5 wiring. Otherwise, it is a standard V3 gearbox. The hop-up chamber is made of ABS plastic, and the inner barrel has a standard diameter of 6.08mm. The replica's velocity measured with 0.20g BBs is 105-110 m/s. It is recommended to use 0.25g BBs for optimal performance.

Power Supply

The replica can operate with a maximum 9.6V NiMH or 7.4V LiPo battery. The battery compartment is located behind the stock and is accessible by removing the rubber cap. The connection plug is Tamiya mini. We recommend using high-quality BBs and do not recommend reusing BBs or using low-quality BBs as it may damage the replica.
