Product Description
Brief History
The model copied by G&G is the renowned German MG 42. The original name is Maschinengewehr 42, or in translation, machine gun 42. This light machine gun was designed by Nazi Germany at the beginning of World War II, specifically to give infantry troops an advantage on the battlefield. This model was extensively used by the German Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS during World War II. Over the years, this weapon has proven its reliability due to its simplistic design and ease of operation. Its effectiveness on the battlefield was undeniable due to its high rate of fire, providing excellent suppression fire against enemy troops.
Exterior of the Replica
This replica is offered by G&G and meticulously copies the real weapon, providing collectors with a true delight. The manufacturer spares no expense on material quality, using only alloy steels and heat treatments designed to mimic the color of steel just like the original. The grip and stock are made of wood, adding an extra touch of authenticity. The weight of the replica is not for the faint-hearted, with just 1 kg less than the real weapon, the GMG42 manages to reach 10.5 kg. This weapon is not meant to be used standing but rather supported on the ground with the help of the integrated bipod. Like the real weapon, the replica features two sighting systems, one for ground targets and another for airborne targets.
Interior of the Replica
Regarding the interior of this toy, we have only words of praise. The gearbox is atypical but very solidly built, made from CNC aluminum. The method of removing the gearbox is extremely simple, without the need for additional tools. Thus, any intervention is quick. The inner barrel has a length of 490mm and a typical MG 42 disassembly system. The entire assembly of the outer barrel with the inner barrel and hop-up chamber can be removed by folding the outer barrel to the right. Remember to disconnect the inner barrel by pressing the internal release button located next to the BB feed hole before doing this. To reconnect the inner barrel, simply cock the cocking lever. The hop-up chamber is equipped with an adjustable hop-up adjustment, allowing the BBs to reach impressive distances. The gearbox is capable of propelling BBs at a speed of 115-120 m/s, measured with 0.20g BBs. Thanks to the 25000 model motor and the 11.1V LiPo battery, the rate of fire is not low at all, averaging 19-21 BBs per second, once again maintaining the performance of the classic MG 42.
The replica's magazine is a high-capacity one, capable of feeding the entire load automatically, thanks to the electromechanical drive system. Its capacity is 1700 6mm BBs.
Power Supply
This replica is delivered with an 11.1V 1100mAh LiPo battery and a 7.4V 430mAh LiPo battery for the charger. The package even includes a charger for the LiPo batteries. We recommend using BBs weighing 0.25g for optimal performance and only using high-quality BBs. Do not use questionable quality BBs and do not reuse BBs as this may damage the replica.
