Brief History

The Heckler & Koch MG4 (also known as HK123) is a light machine gun chambered for 5.56 mm ammunition, designed and developed by the German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch. It was developed in the late 1990s and first publicly unveiled in September 2001. It was selected to replace the general-purpose MG3 7.62 mm machine gun in the Bundeswehr, with the MG3 set to fulfill other roles. It will also serve as the secondary weapon for the new Puma infantry fighting vehicle. Overall, it is designed to be lightweight, provide maximum user safety, and operate reliably in adverse conditions, using a wide range of ammunition from various manufacturers without the need to adjust the gas system. It was known as the MG43 before its adoption by the Bundeswehr.

Exterior of the Replica

This replica is offered by VFC and closely mimics the real weapon, providing firearm enthusiasts with a true delight. The manufacturer spares no expense on material quality, thus enhancing authenticity. The weight of the replica is 4.2 kg compared to the 8.15 kg of the firearm. At the top, the replica is equipped with a sighting system and a RIS rail for mounting various accessories, and there is also a section of RIS rail on the sides. The safety is ambidextrous, the top handle can be folded for transport, and the bipod can also be folded for better maneuverability. The stock is made of ABS and is foldable. 

Interior of the Replica 

The gearbox of the replica is specially designed for this model. Its design allows for good reliability over time, regardless of the power of the installed spring. The electrical system is equipped with a MOSFET for contact protection. The hop-up chamber is made of metal and allows for easy adjustment of the hop-up adjustment. The inner barrel has a diameter of 6.03 mm, thus initially eliminating the need for a precision barrel. The firing power is approximately 100-105 meters per second, measured with 0.20g BBs and a hop-up adjustment of zero.

Power Supply

The replica is delivered with an internal magazine with a capacity of 900 BBs, and the package includes an external magazine with a capacity of 4000 BBs. This replica is equipped with a large Deans connector. The package does not include a battery or a battery charger. The replica supports 7.4V LiPo batteries or 8.4V and 9.6V NiMh batteries. We do not recommend using a battery larger than 9.6V as it may damage the gearbox. We recommend using only high-quality BBs and not reusing BBs as it may damage the replica.
