Short History

The Accuracy international Arctic Warfare rifle, or simply the L96, was designed and manufactured by the English company Accuracy International in the 1980s with the purpose of replacing the Lee-Enfield, which had become outdated compared to existing technology. The rifle itself is designed to operate in extreme cold temperatures. The original model named L96A1 underwent improvements over time and was renamed AW or Arctic Warfare. This rifle easily impressed users and quickly gained appreciation among law enforcement forces due to its precision and reliability.

Description

This airsoft replica is based on a sniper rifle design incorporating elements from various existing platforms. The receiver resembles those of hunting rifles, the barrel of military rifles, and the body features a modern and innovative design. Its design aims to provide good maneuverability and stability during operation. The trigger assembly and barrel tend to mimic models based on the renowned L96 or Arctic Warfare, with the similarity ending there. Let's go into detail.

Exterior of the replica

This replica has a body made of quality ABS plastic, fixed with screws both between panels and in the receiver. The outer barrel and receiver or cylinder support are made of metal. The replica has a balanced weight thanks to its well-balanced stock. The body shape is extremely comfortable in most shooting positions. There is a rail on the top of the body where the scope is mounted, and a bipod attached to the front lower part, providing the ideal stability for the replica.

Interior of the replica

To function, the replica does not need gas, CO2, electricity, heat, a hammer, or other external power sources. It is manually cocked, which feeds the BB and compresses the internal spring generating the required airflow for firing the BB. The simple system allows the replica to be used in almost any weather conditions. The mechanism or trigger box of the replica is made of metal and successfully withstands the included spring's tension. The piston and spring guide are made of metal. The velocity of the replica is around 125 - 130 m/s, or 1.8J measured with 0.20g BBs. Due to the speed, it is recommended to use heavier weight BBs, such as 0.28g or 0.30g.

Powering

The replica is delivered disassembled, and all necessary tools for assembly and its accessories are included. It is important not to rush the assembly process to avoid damaging the threads. Avoid excessive disassembly and reassembly of the replica as this can jeopardize the thread integrity. The package includes the replica, cleaning rod, tactical sling, BB loader, and a magazine with a capacity of 25 6mm BBs. It is recommended to use high-quality BBs for optimal performance. Do not reuse BBs and avoid using low-quality ones as the replica may malfunction.
