Product Description
Short history
Designed in the 1890s by John Browning to be an advancement from the existing revolvers at that time. The project was taken over by Colt Industries and after rigorous testing, the project was approved. In 1911, it was introduced as a standard issue firearm for the American military. The pistol was revised in 1924, with some minor external modifications. Since then, it has remained unchanged. After a century of use worldwide, the Colt 1911 remains the most significant pistol in human history.
Exterior of the replica
Umarex does a good job replicating the real gun, but the operating principle is different. The replica does not have recoil, although the slide can be pulled back to cock the mechanism. This airsoft replica is made of ABS plastic.
Interior of the replica
The internal mechanism of the replica is made of plastic and metal and operates manually. Cocking the hammer and loading the pellets are done by pulling the slide back until it locks. The replica does not have an adjustable hop-up.
