Product Description
Presentation
KAC PDW, this is the name of the real weapon produced and designed by Knight's Armament Company. This platform is intended to replace subcompact weapon models. From the outset, the goal was to achieve improved performance compared to existing subcompacts that suffer from range limitations. Using a 6x35mm caliber, results have been more than satisfactory. The effective range is comparable to the 5.56mm NATO caliber, around 300m. PDW stands for Personal Defense Weapon, and this platform is favored by law enforcement and security companies because it can be easily used inside vehicles. There are 2 versions of the platform, the only difference being the barrel length; 8 inches and 10 inches.
Exterior of the Replica
The presented airsoft replica is manufactured by D-boys, a producer focused on the entry-level and mainstream category, offering over the years replicas with an excellent quality-price ratio for players on a tighter budget. The KAC PDW platform will impress even the more discerning players. It closely mimics the real weapon in both appearance and functionality. Quality materials are used, and the finishes are impressive. The construction is largely made from metal materials; the only plastic component of the replica is the grip, but of course, we are talking about durable ABS plastic. The front part of the external barrel of the replica can be removed and replaced with the longer section included in the package, allowing for the installation of a longer inner barrel. The platform resembles the M4 in terms of controls and accessories, but upon closer inspection, we can see that the upper part of the replica, like the real weapon, is constructed from a single piece of aluminum alloy, thus significantly strengthening the overall assembly of the airsoft replica. There are rails on all sides at the front for mounting devices and accessories. On the top, there is a long, standard rail that allows for the installation of advanced optical devices.
The airsoft replica is equipped with a very effective foldable, adjustable sighting system. The rear part features a rail that allows for the elevation of any additional electronic sighting system mounted. The stock of the airsoft replica is made of metal and is foldable to further reduce the overall length. It folds to the right side and secures with a very firm ball-based system. At the back of the stock, there is a rubber section for comfort and grip.
The presented airsoft replica can be easily used by both right-handed and left-handed players. The fire selector and mag catch are ambidextrous. To support the airsoft replica, we can use the quick detach system positioned above the grip. The package also includes a ring compatible with this system. To facilitate the adjustment of the hop-up system, the bolt catch is functional.
Interior of the Replica
The airsoft replica is equipped with a standard V2 metal gearbox, allowing for the use of most upgrade components available on the market. The internal components are of good quality. The gears are made of metal, and the piston is made of polycarbonate. The hop-up chamber is a standard M4 and is made of transparent plastic. Using 0.20g BBs, the airsoft replica will propel them at a fairly high speed considering its purpose, approximately 120 m/s.
Power Supply
The airsoft replica package includes a 9.6V battery integrated into a PEQ box that mounts on the rails of the airsoft replica. The space for the battery is strictly on the exterior of the airsoft replica. Batteries no larger than 9.6V NiMh or 7.4V Lipo can be used. Any higher voltage may damage the toy. It is recommended to use quality BBs weighing 0.25g and not to reuse BBs or use low-quality BBs as they may damage the toy and reduce its performance.
