Product Description
Brief History
SCAR stands for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle and was developed by FN Herstal for the "United States Special Operation Command" or SOCOM for short, with the intention of providing an extremely versatile platform capable of being quickly modified and accessorized according to user needs. It first appeared in 2004 and saw action in 2007 during pre-selection competitions. It was fielded in 2009 and is still used today in several countries around the world. This weapon is calibrated in two variants; 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm, Light and Heavy. Both versions exist in both long and short forms.
Exterior of the Replica
This replica is made by WE and is designed to replicate the Light, CQB, 5.56 mm version. It is constructed similarly to the real weapon, with the upper part made of metal and the lower part made of ABS plastic. The controls are akin to the real weapon, with an ambidextrous fire selector and magazine catch. The top of the replica features a standard rail running the entire length. There are rails on both sides and underneath at the front for easy accessorization. The stock of the replica is made of ABS plastic and is adjustable in length, as is the height of the cheek pad. Like the real platform, the presented SCAR is designed to be easily operated by those familiar with the M4 platform. The grip and controls are similar to the M4 and work with M4/M16 magazines. The replica is equipped with a classic, foldable sighting system to make room for an advanced sighting device. There are attachment points for a sling at the front and back on both sides of the replica.
Interior of the Replica
Inside the replica, we find an Open Bolt system. The functions offered by this system provide the user with an experience similar to the weapon it replicates. The hop-up chamber is specific to SCAR and the inner barrel has a diameter of 6.03 mm. The length of the inner barrel is 230 mm. The recoil of the replica is strong, adding a note of authenticity to it. The airsoft replica has a velocity of approximately 110-115 meters per second, measured with 0.20g BBs. We recommend using 0.25g BBs for optimal performance.
Power Source
The airsoft replica package includes a magazine that can hold 30 6mm BBs. Under normal weather conditions at temperatures above 15°C, the airsoft replica can operate with a full magazine of BBs. It is recommended to use Green Gas; any weaker or stronger gas may damage the operating system. It is recommended to use quality BBs weighing 0.25g for optimal performance.
