Product Description
Brief History
First presented to the public in 1991, and a few years later entering production. It is manufactured in America, combining German parts with American production, which is why the new shape of the P229 was considered primarily for the American audience. The secret of the P229 is the slide machined from a single piece of aluminum, which provides much greater durability to the pistol. However, a disadvantage is its weight, as the aluminum slide is somewhat heavier than the sheet metal version.
Exterior of the Replica
This airsoft replica is offered by WE and is called the F229. Its body is entirely constructed from metal while the grips are made of ABS plastic. The pistol operates in semi-automatic mode, just like the real firearm. With each pull of the trigger, the replica will fire one shot and then automatically reset.
The weight of the airsoft replica is not to be overlooked. At nearly 900g, it is just a few grams lighter than the real firearm. This weight is achieved from the entire structural assembly and not from weights placed inside the pistol's body.
Similar to the real firearm, the left side of the airsoft replica is equipped with a decocking button. Also on the left side is the button for disassembling the slide.
At the front, there is a rail where tactical accessories such as flashlights or lasers can be mounted.
Interior of the Replica
All internal mechanisms of the replica are made of metal. The hop-up chamber is adjustable, allowing for improved effective range. To replicate the hop-up adjustment, the outer barrel must be removed. The magazine can hold 20 BBs. Using green gas and 0.20g BBs, the replica can shoot at 85-90 m/s.
Power Supply
The airsoft replica operates on green gas; any weaker or stronger gas may damage the internal mechanisms. For optimal performance, the airsoft replica should be used in normal atmospheric conditions at temperatures above 15°C. With a gas fill, the replica operates the entire magazine, and when the BBs run out, it locks the slide in the warning position.
