Frequently Asked Questions
Detonics .45 can be considered the compact version of the famous 1911. Obviously, the downsizing is not as simple as it seems, due to the need to reinforce certain internal elements to withstand the .45 caliber. Tokyo Marui meticulously replicates this charming platform with great attention to detail. This airsoft replica is made from ABS plastic and features the silver slide variant. The reliability specific to T.M. speaks volumes in terms of performance and dependability, managing to impress even the most "picky" airsoft players.

Product Description
Brief History
The Detonics company is internationally recognized as an innovator of the compact 1911 model. The design of the Detonics .45 pistol is not a simple cut-down version of the Colt 1911; the internal design is rethought to enhance the maneuverability and utility of the pistol. Despite its smaller size, the caliber is .45. This pistol is intended to provide the firepower of the famous 1911 while allowing for much easier concealment. The model has been appreciated by law enforcement, security, and government protection forces due to its compactness and reliability. Although its design began in 1960, production only started in 1976, and over time, the manufacturing rights have been transferred to several companies.
Exterior of the Replica
Tokyo Marui replicates the Detonics .45 model with the specific attention of the company. The level of reproduction is very good, with Tokyo Marui successfully capturing all the specific elements of the real model. The exterior is made from ABS plastic. The lower part is black while the upper part, the slide, is coated with a metallic silver paint. Hence the name, "silver slide."
Interior of the Replica
The internal mechanisms are similar to the T.M. 1911 model, but it is not recommended to replace them with specific 1911 parts without verifying their compatibility. They are made of metal and provide good long-term reliability. The replica is equipped with an adjustable hop-up system that is accessible by removing the slide. The disassembly procedure is similar to the 1911 by removing the slide catch. The magazine of the replica mimics the single stack 1911 model but is shorter, made of metal, and has a capacity of 18 BBs. The velocity of the replica is relatively low compared to other Tokyo Marui models due to the short length of the inner barrel. The measured velocity with 0.20g BBs is 80-85 m/s.
Power Source
The replica operates with low gas, 134A-144A. Any stronger gas may jeopardize the integrity of the replica. At an ambient temperature above 20'C, the replica can operate the entire load of BBs. It is recommended to use high-quality 0.20g BBs for optimal performance. The use of low-quality BBs or reusing BBs is not recommended, as it will adversely affect the performance of the replica and may cause damage.
