Product Description
Brief History
Designed in the 1890s by John Browning to represent a step forward from the revolvers of that time. The project was continued by Colt Industries and, after rigorous testing, the project was approved. In 1911, it was introduced as standard equipment for the U.S. Army. The pistol was revised in 1924, with minor changes to its exterior appearance. Since then, it has remained unchanged. After a century of use worldwide, Colt 1911 remains the most significant pistol in human history.
Exterior of the Replica
The airsoft replica Colt 1911 manufactured by KJW is a 1:1 copy of the real firearm. The construction is metal, providing a specific feel akin to handling a real weapon. The functionality of the replica is identical to the authentic 1911. The recoil effect when firing the pistol is strong, contributing to the authenticity of this airsoft replica. On the left side, you will find the slide catch, mag catch, and hammer safety buttons. At the back of the grip, there is a specific safety feature of the 1911 platform that prevents the trigger from being pulled without firmly holding the grip. Note that the hammer safety can only be used when the hammer is cocked.
Interior of the Replica
The internals of the replica are of high quality; when used under proper conditions and maintained correctly, it is a durable replica with minimal chances of malfunction. The magazine holds 25 BBs, but an additional BB can be loaded in the barrel, totaling 26 BBs. The firing mechanisms of the pistol are standard T.M.
To disassemble the replica, the slide catch must be removed, after which the slide is released forward. Through this operation, we can also access the adjustment of the Hop-Up, which is consistent and precise. The accuracy of this airsoft replica is very good. It is recommended to use 0.20g BBs for optimal performance.
Power Source
This airsoft replica operates using CO2. Under normal atmospheric conditions at temperatures above 15°C, with a CO2 cartridge, the toy can fire all BBs from the magazine, and when they are finished, the slide is locked in the warning position indicating the end of BBs.
A significant advantage of the replica is the ability to use standard Gas magazines; the manufacturers KJW have designed the latest versions of this replica to allow the use of both gas and CO2 without additional pressure on the firing system. The velocity will increase when using CO2, but not excessively. Enough to be safely used on the playing field.
Periodically, the airsoft replica must be cleaned and lubricated according to the recommendations in the Service and Care section. This way, the airsoft replica can function correctly for an extended period.
