FPS Lightweight Piston 14 Metal Teeth

FPS Airsoft presents the first piston with a 100% technopolymer body and metal teeth made in Italy.

The piston material is POM C, a technopolymer with high mechanical performance and a very low friction coefficient as it is self-lubricating.
The teeth have been manufactured using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology, as this production process guarantees dimensional precision and strength equal to that of solid machining.
The innovation is represented by the second missing tooth and the third already lowered by 0.3 millimeters because this configuration predisposes the piston itself for a correct angle of engagement (AOE) and makes it suitable for high speeds.
The injected metal type is SAE 4650, which is currently considered the best material on the market for this type of use.
The sliding guides are designed to minimize friction and retain lubricant for a long period of time.
The teeth are decentralized to favor the coupling between the piston teeth and those of the sector gear.
The longitudinal reinforcements on the sides of the teeth increase the robustness of the piston and prevent the rack from contacting the inner wall of the cylinder.
Special ribs reduce the contact area between the spring and the inner part of the piston body, consequently reducing friction between metal and technopolymer during contraction and elongation due to the firing cycle.
