Brief History

The Dragunov has been and will remain one of the most interesting semi-automatic sniper rifles of our time. It was designed in 1963 by Yevgeny Dragunov and quickly went into production after winning military tests decisively. It was designed to provide an advantage to assault troops, allowing them to maintain a safe distance from the conflict zone. This weapon has undergone several improvements over time, but its design has remained somewhat unchanged, making it easily identifiable. The caliber is 7.62mm, providing a significant advantage over maximum effective range.

Exterior of the Replica

Cyma broadly copies the SVD Dragunov model. It is an electric replica, capable of operating in semi-automatic mode. It is made from both metal and ABS plastic. Its design is as simple and efficient as possible, broadly mimicking the R.S. The outer barrel is made of metal, while the handguard is made of ABS plastic and serves as a battery compartment. The stock of the replica is also made of ABS plastic. On the right side, there is a fire selector that also serves as a safety. The replica is equipped with a rudimentary sighting system as well as a rail embedded on the left side, allowing for the attachment of a scope and mount. Behind the fire selector, there is a button for removing the dust cover. At the back, there is a cheek rest mounted on the stock that enhances comfort. The magazine release button is ambidextrous.

Interior of the Replica

The gearbox is made of metal and copies the RS model. Inside, there are 4 gears instead of 3, and the piston has 18 teeth instead of 16. The included spring provides a power of 1.8-1.9J, which translates to around 130-135 m/s, but we do not recommend installing a stronger spring than that. The hop-up system is extremely easy to use, featuring a cross-type rotary design. The inner barrel has a length of 690mm and a diameter of 6.08mm. What matters is that it has a standard AEG attachment. The firing mode is semi-automatic, with the auto function completely eliminated from the gearbox construction.

Power Supply

The replica package does not include a battery and battery charger. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you consider these accessories when making your purchase. We recommend using only quality batteries with stable voltage. LiPo 7.4V or NiMH 9.6V. Using a discharged or defective battery can jam the gearbox, and the method to unjam it involves disassembling the replica due to the auto function. For optimal performance, we recommend using only high-quality BBs; otherwise, the replica may malfunction. However, we are talking about a 690mm barrel.
