Short History
Designed in the 1890s by John Browning to represent a step forward from the existing revolvers at that time. The project was continued by Colt Industries and after rigorous testing, the project was approved. In 1911, it was introduced into the standard equipment of the American army. The pistol was revised in 1924, with minor exterior modifications being implemented. Since then and up to the present day, it has remained unchanged. After a century of use worldwide, the Colt 1911 remains the most important pistol in the history of mankind.
Exterior of the Replica
This replica, marketed by Army Armament, is made almost entirely of metal. The only ABS plastic elements are the handle grips. The sights of the replica are fixed but well oriented. At the front of the replica, there is a standard rail that allows mounting devices such as lasers or flashlights. The safeties of the replica are as follows: Trigger safety, located at the back of the handle. Without a firm grip, the trigger cannot be pulled. There is also a hammer safety that is ambidextrous and can only be used when the hammer is cocked. The operation of the replica is similar to a real weapon. To cock it, the slide must be cocked. At that moment, the internal mechanism is cocked, and a BB is loaded into the barrel. The pistol has recoil, like a real weapon, this movement serving to feed the next BB and recock the mechanism.
Interior of the Replica
The internals of the replica are made of metal. When operated correctly and maintained properly, it is a durable replica with low chances of malfunction. The magazine can hold 26 6mm BBs.
For disassembling the replica, the slide catch must be removed, then the slide is released forward. Through this operation, we can access the HopUp adjustment, which is constant and precise. The accuracy of this airsoft replica is very good. It is recommended to use 0.20g BBs for optimal performance. The velocity of the replica with 0.20g BBs is measured at 90-95 meters per second.
Power Source
This replica operates on green gas. We recommend using only high-quality BBs and not reusing BBs as it may cause the replica to malfunction.
