Presentation

APS Limited, or more broadly Accuracy Pneumatics Shooting, was established in 2001 and initially focused on the development and manufacturing of training equipment such as Markers and special ammunition for these Markers. Over time, APS has developed its Airsoft branch, thus manufacturing airsoft replicas and accessories.

The presented replica is part of the ASR series, specifically the ASR 118 Competition model. The manufacturer has equipped this wonderful toy with the new Keymod front rail system, allowing for the arrangement of rails according to each user's preferences in a very short time. The details of this toy raise the bar from the everyday. The controls are designed for easy access and are colored gold to give the toy at least an interesting appearance.

Exterior of the Replica

The ASR 118 airsoft replica is primarily made from metal alloys, contributing to a low weight and thus improving maneuverability. The front features a modular KEYMOD rail system, of the free float type. The front of the outer barrel is concealed by the rail system. Along the entire top of the airsoft replica, there is a standard rail, allowing for the mounting of almost any type of advanced sighting device; red-dot, scopes, and others. This airsoft replica is also equipped with a foldable fiber optic sight. The plastic elements of this toy are the motor grip and the stock. The stock of the airsoft replica is adjustable, of the SOPMOD type, and allows for the mounting of crane-type batteries.

For attaching a sling, quick detach systems located above the grip and at the back of the rails can be used.

Interior of the Replica

Responsible for operation is a version 2 gearbox concept APS named Silver Edge. At first glance, it appears to be a standard V2 gearbox. The gears, piston, spring, and other small components are standard, while the casing is slightly modified to allow for the installation of a blow-back system and to enable the removal of the guide without disassembling the casing. This makes the operation of replacing the spring or servicing the gearbox much easier.

The hop-up chamber is metal, making it much more resistant to wear. When properly adjusted, the hop-up adjustment will provide superior effective range.  This airsoft replica is equipped with an active bolt catch. Once the charging lever is activated, the protective cover of the ejection port will remain open until the bolt catch is activated, greatly facilitating the adjustment of the hop-up adjustment. The speed of the airsoft replica is approximately 115-120 m/s measured with 0.20g BBs. For optimal performance, 0.25g BBs are recommended.

Power Supply

With the purchase of the airsoft replica, we recommend purchasing a LiPo battery of a maximum of 7.4V, and its shape should allow for mounting in the SOPMOD stock, or a NiMh no larger than 9.6V mini crane type. Any higher voltage can severely damage the toy. We recommend using high-quality BBs for optimal performance and to ensure the proper functioning of the airsoft replica.
