Presentation

APS Limited, or more broadly Accuracy Pneumatics Shooting, was founded in 2001 and initially focused on the development and manufacturing of training equipment such as Markers and special ammunition related to these Markers. Over time, APS has also developed its Airsoft branch, manufacturing airsoft replicas and accessories.

The presented replica is part of the Spyder series, specifically the ASR 115 model. The dimensions of this toy recommend it for assault roles. The manufacturer has equipped this wonderful toy with the new Keymod front rail system, allowing users to arrange the rails according to their preferences in a very short time.

Exterior of the Replica

This ASR 115 airsoft replica is primarily made from metal alloys, contributing to a lightweight design that improves maneuverability and efficiency on the airsoft field. The front features an innovative modular rail system called KEYMOD, a 12.5-inch free float type. This system allows for easy, secure, and quick mounting and dismounting of the rails. The front part of the outer barrel can be removed, allowing for the attachment of a suppressor or other devices. There is a standard rail along the entire top of the airsoft replica, allowing for the mounting of a wide range of optical devices. This airsoft replica is also equipped with a foldable fiber optic sight. The operation of the sights is manual. The plastic elements of this toy are the motor grip and the stock. The stock of the airsoft replica is adjustable, of the SOPMOD type, and allows for the mounting of crane-type batteries.

For attaching a sling, the swivel above the grip can be used.

Interior of the Replica

Responsible for operation is a version 2 APS concept gearbox. At first glance, it appears to be a standard V2 gearbox, as the gears, piston, spring, and other small components are indeed standard; however, the casing has been slightly modified to allow for the installation of a blow-back system and to enable the removal of the guide without disassembling the casing. This makes the operation of replacing the spring or servicing the gearbox much easier.

The hop-up chamber is metal, making it much more resistant to wear. When adjusted correctly, the hop-up adjustment will provide very good effective range. It should be noted that there may be traces of grease inside the hop-up chamber and the inner barrel, so careful cleaning of the ball pickup assembly is recommended. This airsoft replica is equipped with an active bolt catch. Once the charging lever is activated, the protective tab of the ejection port will remain open until the bolt catch is engaged, greatly facilitating the adjustment of the hop-up adjustment. The speed of the airsoft replica is approximately 120-125 m/s measured with 0.20g BBs. For optimal performance, 0.25g BBs are recommended.

Power Supply

With the purchase of the airsoft replica, it is recommended to acquire a LiPo battery of a maximum of 7.4V, shaped to allow mounting in the SOPMOD stock, or a NiMh no larger than 9.6V crane mini type. Any higher voltage may severely damage the toy. It is recommended to use high-quality BBs for optimal performance and to ensure the proper functioning of the airsoft replica.
